High-Quality Early Childhood Education
At Griffith Central Preschool, we are committed to providing children with the high-quality early childhood education and care they deserve. We believe that every child has the right to learn and grow in an environment that is nurturing, engaging, and responsive to their individual needs.
Commitment to Child Safety and Wellbeing
Our preschool is a Child Safe service where the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children are paramount. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where all children are respected, valued, and protected from harm. All staff share responsibility for upholding child safe practices and ensuring children’s voices are heard.
A Natural Environment for Learning
Our preschool offers a large, open, natural environment that acts as the “third teacher,” encouraging children to explore, imagine, and connect with the natural world. These rich play spaces support inquiry, creativity, and reflection, allowing children to learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences.
Experienced and Dedicated Educators
Our team of qualified and experienced educators work collaboratively to guide each child’s learning journey. With higher educator-to-child ratios, we are able to provide more individualised support, building strong relationships and gaining a deep understanding of each child’s development, interests, and strengths. Our educators bring a wealth of knowledge and are committed to ongoing professional development, ensuring our practices remain current, reflective, and responsive.
Inspiring Lifelong Learning
At Griffith Central Preschool, we believe we have the right environment, resources, and people to support children in the best possible way. As educators, we are passionate about inspiring a lifelong love of learning, empowering children to become confident, capable, and curious learners.
Our Play Rooms
We have two play based rooms – Wandayali Room and Dinawan Room. These spaces offer generous play areas with engaging, hands-on experiences that support children’s curiosity, creativity, and learning through play.

Our Commitment to Child Safe Practices
Griffith Central Preschool is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where all children feel valued, respected, and protected. We uphold a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse and are dedicated to promoting the safety, wellbeing, and participation of every child within our service. We believe children have the right to feel safe, be heard, and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and supports the cultural safety of Aboriginal children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with additional needs. At GCP, every staff member, volunteer, and community member shares the responsibility of ensuring that child safety and wellbeing remain at the forefront of every interaction and decision. Through strong relationships, respectful practices, and ongoing commitment to child-safe standards, we strive to create a nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.

Our Program
The Power of Learning Through Play
Play is a vital part of every child’s learning and development, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. At Griffith Central Preschool, we harness the power of play to support each child’s unique learning journey. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our curriculum and approaches are intentional and thoughtfully planned, ensuring children are supported to reach their full potential.
Through play, children explore and make sense of the world around them. They step into roles they recognise from their everyday lives – becoming scientists, mathematicians, artists, and emerging readers and writers. These experiences encourage creativity, problem-solving, and confidence, while supporting physical, social and cognitive development.
Most importantly, play nurtures a genuine love of learning – because when children are engaged, curious, and having fun, meaningful learning naturally follows.
Our Policies & Procedures
Our policies and procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain current, effective, and aligned with all relevant regulations and requirements set by the Department of Education. Through ongoing evaluation and updates, we are committed to maintaining best practice and ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and quality care of all children. These are available in the reception area and can be accessed at any time by parents and families.
Our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
The Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) outlines the service’s commitment to ongoing improvement. It is available in the reception area and can be accessed at any time by parents and families.
Parent Involment
At Griffith Central Preschool, we value the important role families play in children’s learning and believe that strong partnerships create the best outcomes for children. We encourage parents and caregivers to be actively involved in our preschool community in a variety of meaningful ways.
Families are welcome to spend time in the centre, sharing experiences, skills, and interests with the children. Whether it’s reading a story, participating in activities, or contributing cultural knowledge, these moments enrich our program and strengthen children’s sense of belonging.
We also invite families to take a more active role in the service by joining our Management Board. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to decision-making, support the ongoing development of the preschool, and be part of shaping its future.
Through open communication and collaboration, we aim to build respectful and supportive relationships with all families. By working together, we create a strong, connected community that enhances each child’s learning and development.
